CATWALK OF THE PANCAKES
Crépe Suzette, a new Parisian pancake salon, launched in Cape Town on 1 January 2009. "Together with our fantastic teams at Bouillabaisse Franschhoek and Cape Town, we have been able to pave the way for even bigger challenges," says Camil Haas, masterchef gone large and, together with wife Ingrid, owner of the Bouillabaisse and Crépe Suzette brands. "We're deeply grateful to our staff for making this possible."
About Crépe Suzette
Imagine, you walk into this plush créperie in the heart of Paris. Smells of black coffee, expensive perfumes and caramelised sugar. Sounds of accordion and high heels on cobblestones. You order, and watch the chic petite haute couture ladies sip their coffees and ... hey, wait, excusez moi, pinch me, this isn't Paris, this is Cape Town. Never been able to feel that way? Well, that's understandable, because this is a first for Cape Town. "The catwalk of the pancakes," jokes Madame Ingrid, founder of Crépe Suzette. "It's a unique concept for South Africa: traditional French-style sweet and hearty crépes and waffles in true fine dining style, in the heart of Cape Town."
