Cape Town's most beautiful restaurant; styled with passion and attention to detail to give you an extraordinary dining experience. Sophisticated yet very homely, The Opal Lounge is situated in a 112 year old Victorian villa. Two stylish dining rooms, a glass enclosed Verandah, a stunning bar lounge and garden deck, each one differently designed, provide a unique encounter each time you visit. Eat in the serene Oriental Lounge with its striking Chinese antiques, or surround yourself with beautiful Persian rugs and lanterns in the deep red Persian Lounge. Both feature original open fireplaces, adding a warm and cosy atmosphere on those cold rainy days. The Verandah offers smokers or non-smokers views of Table Mountain, and on sunny days the glass doors open up to the wonderful deck below.
The seductive Bar Lounge, with its original pressed ceilings, meticulously hand-painted in black and gold, and Louis XV chairs, is the perfect place to start savouring mouth-watering cocktails such as the Opal Chill or Peanut Butter Dream. And then there’s the cosy smoking bar, the Colonial Lounge, decorated in antiques, fabrics and paintings from deepest Africa, from the collection of the owner, Rochelle Bushell’s travels through the continent. Deep, comfy chairs and a huge suede sofa will almost make you forget a world existed outside. All of this, coupled with extraordinary service and a delectable fusion menu, served by a team of passionate people, makes The Opal Lounge Cape Town’s most unique dining experience.

This is definitely the most exquisite restaurant I've ever been to. I felt like royalty from the moment I arrived – and the feeling lingered into the next day. I really must commend owner Rochelle for creating this sacred space – away from the hustle of Kloof St, where all your senses are indulged. The menu is superb menu with dishes quite unlike anything I've had anywhere else. The level of care and attention to detail (from the decor to the waitrons) is unmatched.
