Hawksmoor House is a Cape Dutch country retreat located on a 220 hectare wine farm called Matjieskuil which is near Stellenbosch. Meticulously restored and beautifully decorated with exquisite antiques, it occupies a stunning location amidst vineyards overlooking Table Mountain and enjoys spectacular sunsets.Conveniently located a 25-minute drive from the buzzing Cape Town city centre, the estate is quiet and serene. In addition to our guests, the farm is home to horses, cows, porcupines, hawks, herons, pelicans, and countless other wildlife, while our resident German Pointers, Cosmo and Max, keep a watchful eye on the daily workings of the farm.
Hawksmoor House is the perfect place to unwind and let the day slowly go by, lie by the pool with a good book and enjoy a glass of our own fabulous Hawksmoor wine. It also serves as a great base to explore the Winelands. Our friendly and cheerful staff stay discreetly in the background, providing you with the feeling that you have the entire place to yourself and allowing you to relax in absolute peace and quiet. Our stunning manor house guest rooms and garden suites are decorated individually and each designed around a colour. They and furnished throughout with exquisite antiques and contemporary touches. The rooms feature wooden floors and ceilings, queen-size or twin beds, digital safes, elegant en-suite bathrooms with showers and/or baths, underfloor heating and complimentary toiletries. There are also beautiful garden views, private terraces, fireplaces and iPod docking stations are available upon request.
