Description
Situated at the gateway to the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch, we offer the tranquility of country life with the convenience of the proximity of the Stellenbosch village. Rozendal has been farming organically since 1994 and have for the past two years been using the biodynamic approach in both our winemaking and farming. Auberge Rozendal is a family owned and run country inn with 16 en-suite guestrooms all with terraces. Our rooms are situated between the vineyards with majestic mountain views of the Stellenbosch and Simonsberg mountains, providing an environment of beauty and tranquillity. Guests are accommodated in simple elegance and comfort. Each room has both an en-suite bathroom and patio. The rooms have been decorated in European style with a South African touch – the walls of many decorated by works of well-known contemporary South African artists. Relax at the pool or enjoy a leisurely walk or hike in the adjacent forests and mountains. Auberge Rozendal’s environmental and health-conscious approach to life ensures clean air and pure water. No poisons are sprayed, while water is sourced from an underground stream and enhanced by a water catalyser imported from Plocher, Germany. Noise pollution/ electrosmog (ELF) is lessened by the absence of television sets and air-conditioning systems. We are strongly focused on providing personalised attention to customer needs. Our restaurant, situated in the homestead, offers a set menu consisting of dishes created using ingredients that are always seasonal, a large portion of which are taken straight from our bio-dynamic garden. The cuisine can be described as fresh, creative and natural, making use of homegrown vegetables, fruits and herbs, as well as local products such as salmon trout and free-range duck breast. Meals may be enjoyed on the garden terrace and in the dining room. The menu is created daily, preceded by a glass of our own health-inspiring vinegar. We are open to the public 7 days a week. For the restaurant, please follow the signs leading to reception where there is secure parking available. The Rozendal Farm is also a great place for the family, where children can play and parents can relax. The farm animals and wildlife are also a great hit with guests of all ages. The historical village of Stellenbosch is located at the heart of The Cape Winelands, offering you the ability to take in all the Cape has to offer right from one local, Auberge Rozendal – Beaches, Championship Golf, Scenic Drives, the West Coast, Botanical Gardens, Parks, Nature Reserves, Whales, Penguins, Bird- & Wildlife, Cape Town, Designer Shopping, V&A Waterfront, Casinos, Wine & Brandy Tasting, Native Markets, Museums, Cultural Events & Festivals, and much much more!
