Description
Blue Gum Country Estate is a 52-hectare estate located 13 km from the town of Stanford and 30 km from Hermanus. It comprises 3 hectares of vineyards, 40 hectares of grazing pastures, approximately 1 km of river frontage, 10 hectares of mountain fynbos, and a one hectare olive grove.Facilities at Blue Gum include a 28-bed lodge, a wedding venue for 120 people, an upmarket dining room with adjoining wine cellar, extensive and sunny breakfast and lunch dining area with views over the vineyards and pastures, an intimate country-style bar, lounge with fireplace, covered sundowner deck overlooking extensive gardens and a natural spring, a sunny conservatory, and a boardroom for 12-20 delegates with a view over the vineyards and dam.
The rooms are configured as eight twins and four doubles, each with selected satellite channels, minibar facilities, direct dial telephones, and digital safes, and decorated in either an English country or African Colonial style. Seven of the 12 rooms have fireplaces and all rooms have separate bath and shower facilities. Each room also has a private verandah with either views over the gardens or vineyards, or up towards the mountains.
Blue Gum has a magnificently appointed 395 square metre luxury country villa, complete with 100 square metre covered verandahs, double garage, swimming pool, and gardens. The self-catering dwelling offers three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large open-plan kitchen, family room, formal lounge, scullery, and formal dining room.
Blue Gum Country Estate is synonymous with an unforgettable food experience. A sumptuous cold buffet and traditional hot English breakfasts are served daily, and the evening three-course gourmet meals are served by candlelight in the elegant dining room.
Weddings at Blue Gum are tailor-made to suit the individual couple. Summer weddings under the blue gum tree overlooking the pond and vineyards are always a favourite, although winter weddings are proving to run a very close second for brides who prefer a wedding by the fireside along with red wine and delicious, hearty winter food. The Blue Gum restaurant caters for the smaller more intimate wedding of up to 100 guests.
Blue Gum is also the perfect conference retreat. The lodge offers a private conference room with views overlooking the valley and vineyards. Our conference facility can hold up to 12 delegates, however larger conferences can be arranged. Blue Gum is great for brainstorming as it offers a relaxed atmosphere to promote creative ideas and clear thinking. Manor House Suite (5)
These stylish rooms are decorated in the Colonial-African style, with a mixture of rich earthy colours and crisp whites. Each room has its own private verandah with sprawling views of the vineyards and surrounding valley.

These rooms are decorated in an English country style, combining soft colours, comfortable furniture, and beautiful wooden floors. Each room has a private verandah facing the majestic Overberg mountains.

Luxury Country Villa (1)
Three-bedroom, French Provence-style home ideal for one or two families sharing, sleeping a maximum of 10 guests. The house is exceedingly spacious with a lovely fully-equipped kitchen, relaxed lounge area, outdoor patio area with a private swimming pool, and a formal dining area. Additionally, the house offers a large LCD TV, a bar area, and a large family lounge with board games and comfortable country furniture. Guests have a choice of either self-catering or using the gourmet Blue Gum Restaurant. The farmhouse is serviced daily ensuring a relaxing break from all the tasks of home.

The Elephant Suite has a private deck overlooking the spring and orchard, onto thevineyards. Mosquito net and a fan is provided in this room and a spacious lounge area with sleeper couch. The room has a bath and a shower in the bathroom. TV, bar fridge, tea and coffee supplies.

The Guineafowl Suite has its own private garden, a fireplace and a double open bath next to the bed. Double shower and a mosquito net. The room has a TV, bar fridge, tea and coffee supplies.
