iGwalagwala Guest House nestles in the unique little village of St Lucia, which is situated in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park at the mouth of the St Lucia Estuary. The shores of the balmy Indian Ocean are only a ten-minute walk from our front door.

The diversity and interconnected eco-systems ensure a one-stop destination for visitors looking for the most varied wildlife and outdoor experiences in the world. The iSimangaliso Wetland Park was declared South Africa's first World Heritage Site in 1999. It includes over a hundred kilometres of pristine coastline, stretching from St Lucia to the Mozambique border, and includes 38 000 hectares of lake, numerous islands, and an estuary supporting a variety of habitats including the Lebombo mountains, grasslands, forests, wetlands, mangroves and vegetated dunes, with magnificent beaches and coral reefs. This natural diversity creates an environment which is a birder's dream, with more than 500 species to be found in the area.

We provide "owner-hospitality" with a wealth of information on the area to assist you to make the most of your stay with us. What makes us unique is that we establish upfront what your expectations of the area are, and then help you plan your stay to maximize this expectation. With our intimate knowledge of the entire country we can also advise you on planning your complete trip free of charge.

Our double rooms are all en-suite and equipped with fans or air-conditioning, hairdryers, and tea and coffee-making facilities. We offer the option of a light breakfast buffet, a full English breakfast, or self-catering facilities. We also provide a comfortable lounge and relaxing lawn area next to a sparkling pool with a gazebo and barbecue facilities.
