Description

Eden Cottage is in the delightful village of Sedgefield. Just a few minutes drive from Knysna and within walking distance to some beautiful beaches, the lagoon and shops. Eden Cottage is within easy reach of George and Plettenberg.

Various arts and crafts are on display throughout the year. Come join us every Saturday morning at the Wild Oats Farmer's Market just outside town next to the N2 motorway en-route to Wilderness. Bird watching is one of the most enjoyed activities as there are numerous species that only live in this area, so bring along your binoculars and bird books! We have a number of magnificent beaches around the village.

The main beach, where Swartvlei Lake meets the ocean is popular for families. Myoli and Cola beach join to give endless white sand where one can walk safely and admire the beauty and tranquility. Swartvlei beach offers horseback access and leads to Gericke's Point, which is accessible at low tide and is excellent for snorkeling and exploring the tidal pools. To the east of the town is Groenvlei - a fresh water lake famous for its bass fishing and this forms part of the Goukamma Nature Reserve with its abundance of bird life.

So many fun and memorable activities are available for the holiday visitor; paragliding is a must with a tandem jump from the top of the dunes or spend the day on a combined canoe/bush hike in the nature reserve to see the many beautiful birds in the area. Go a little further afield and enjoy the famous treetop canopy tour on a zip line, or go game watching in an open vehicle or on horseback. Then there are the wolves, elephants, monkeys and birds to see as well as catching a pleasure boat to the Heads in Knysna and enjoying a guided hike to enjoy the most spectacular views of the ocean and estuary. Beaches, paint ball games, shopping, fine dining, cave exploring, catching a steam train, diving with crocodiles and just enjoying nature at its best.

Eden has one double bedroom consisting a queen size bed and build in cupboards with a radio in bedroom, all linen is provided .The bathroom consist of modern corner bath and shower with modern fittings and floor to ceiling tiles. The lounge is open plan with the kitchen and has a TV, DVD player, wall panel heater and sofa. There are two pine beds, which can be used for kids or 2 other adults. Eden has a satellite dish installed you just have to bring your own decoder. The kitchen has built in cupboards with toaster, kettle, 2 plate stove with oven and fridge-freezer and microwave. There is a coffee plunger, cutlery and all utensils ect. When arriving there will be coffee, tea, and sugar available and in the fridge will be water and milk. The front sliding door opens up onto lovely little patio with braai area and table and chairs.
