Description
The Elephant House is a small exclusive lodge only minutes away from the Addo Elephant Park. Situated on a beautiful race horse stud and surrounded by rolling lawns and indigenous trees this is the perfect place to return to after a hot day in the bush.The lodge, with its thatched roof, wide verandas and exceptional service is reminiscent of the old colonial safari experience. The antiques, superior fabrics and the owner's private collection of Africana art gives on the feeling of cosseted luxury.
The eight luxury rooms are all individually decorated and guarantee that the guest has a truly relaxing experience. Four rooms are twin bedded and four rooms are queen bedded. Every evening the drinks tray is brought out for sundowners and dinner is a sumptuous candle lit affair.
Spend the day exploring the Addo Park or Shamwari game reserve or relax around the pool. A number of half day tours of the Sundays River Valley are available whilst Shamwari Game Reserve and Schotia Safaris are only half an hour away, making this the perfect base from which to visit all the attractions in the Addo area.Request A Quote

Luxury Colonial Rooms (8)
All these rooms are double or twin convertible with king-size extra length beds, fully air-conditioned, safe, telephone, en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, private veranda or living area, some with outdoor shower too, some with water features in veranda. All rooms are non-smoking, but smoking is allowed outside on veranda. All rooms have view of garden or swimming pool. All rooms are spacious enough to add an extra bed or two for children and one family colonial is also available. Third and fourth person in colonial room R500 per night. Children under 4 years stay for free.

Stable Cottages (6)
All our cottages are ideal for families with children or adults that don't mind sharing. All open-plan idea. One cottage is much smaller than the other one, but we have two family units with extra beds in an inter leading section. All our cottages are double or twin convertible with king-size extra length beds, fully air-conditioned, safe, mini-bar, kitchenette, en suite bathroom with shower only, private veranda and living area. Coffee and tea making facilities. All rooms are non-smoking, but smoking is allowed outside on veranda. Rooms set in 5ha of rolling lawns. All rooms are spacious enough to add extra beds or a cot. Breakfast is served at our very new and Fabulous Wine Bar and Restaurant. Children under 4 years stay for free.
