The Reserve is home to numerous red data species of mammal and other wildlife and an amazing number of more than 320 bird species. You may wish to venture to the nearby World Natural Heritage Site, The Greater Saint Lucia Wetland Park , where five distinct ecosystems meet to form a wonderland of ecological diversity to be found no where else in South Africa. In the north of the park, the warm sea, lush forests on tall dunes, long unspoilt sandy beaches and coral reefs of the marine reserve at Sodwana Bay, are reputed to be some of the best in the World. Nearby venues provide all encompassing experiences of the African traditional way of life. Age old manufacturing traditions are carried out by kraal residence and vibrant Zulu dancing brings close to heart the spirit of the beat of Africa. At Leopard Walk Lodge guests can relax in well appointed “out of Africa” accommodation which is situated at the edge of a unique sand forest.
