Diedré and Salmon extend a warm welcome to all our guests. We feel fortunate to stay in this beautiful part of our country and it’s our wish to share it with you. Villa Santuario was created and built after many years of staying in different parts of our country. For us it is a real sanctuary and we sincerely hope you will experience the same.The scenery in the midlands changes constantly, with its snowy winters, a paradise of colours in autumn and different shades of green in summer. It is an area that breathes tranquillity and peace, with soft rain and gentle mist hanging in the fold of the valleys. We have several dams, waterfalls and nature reserves in our immediate area.
The southern Drakensberg is only an hour drive away, and while driving there, it's like an ever-changing picture unfolding before you. The Kamberg and Giants Castle area, which is virtually on our doorstep, is certainly the country’s best kept secret. Masses of birds, which include the Cape Vulture, the Lammergeyer vulture and different crane species, can be found here. The area is also a trout fisherman’s paradise. The central and northern Drakensberg, which was recently declared World Heritage Sites, are also a mere one hour and fifteen minutes drive from here.
There are so many things to do and to view, you will never get bored. For example, the picturesque Valley of a Thousand Hills is worth exploring, not only for the scenery, but also for the outstanding art and restaurants. Pietermaritzburg is a beautiful city with stunning architecture. It is a city that offers you everything you could expect from a first class city, but without the rush. Hilton is on the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg and it is a beautiful, romantic village with winding roads, lush vegetation and informal gardens. In the early years, Hilton used to be the summer hideaway for the rich people of Pietermaritzburg.
Your accommodation will be in a very spacious and elegantly furnished studio, which consists of two bedrooms, one with a king size double bed and the other with two single beds. There is a third emergecy single bed in the living area. The bathroom has a bathtub, a large shower, a basin and a toilet. The Forest Stay unit consists of a bedroom with a queen size bed, a bathroom with a bath and shower, as well as a kitchen. The best accessories were chosen to compliment the bathroom. The kitchen is fully-equipped and the lounge and dining area were furnished your comfort in mind. There is also a working bay for business people or someone who feels the need to bring their laptop along.
Many extras will pamper your stay with us, such as heaters, hot water bottles, hair dryers, bathrobes, soft towels and toiletries, as well as crisp and clean linen. There is a TV, books, magazines and a welcoming decanter with sherry.

The Studio is very private and it has it’s own entrance, parking behind an electric security gate and it is serviced daily. It has two bedrooms with bathrooms en-suite. One room has a Queen size double bed, the other has two single beds. It has it's own kitchen, dining and TV room.

The Forest Stay, self-catering unit (1)
The Forst Stay is a single bedroomed (it has a doeble queen sized bed), bathroom en-suite self-catering unit with a kitchen etc. It has a wooden deck and patio overlooking the forest. There is safe parking behind fences with electric gates. It has its own entrance and is very private, safe and secure.
