Chartwell Guest House is situated in Umhlanga Rocks which is the coastal playground of Umhlanga, Durban. We are close to the fabulous La Lucia Mall, a mere four minutes from Gateway shopping centre, and within walking distance to the pristine beaches of Umhlanga Rocks. Chartwell Guest House is also a two minute drive to the vibrant and cosmopolitan Umhlanga village where you will be spoilt for choice among the numerous coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques and newly refurbished malls.Chartwell Guest House has an unusual history. It was previously an art gallery and home to local artist and trustee of an International Art Foundation - Mr H. Boshoff. Although it is now completely renovated, Chartwell Guest House still bears testament to its unique past. The swimming pool was hand mosaicked by internationally acclaimed artist Jane Du Rand. It is truly a work of art, as is the exquisite black, white and mirror mosaicked bathroom in the Honeymoon Suite.

The Garden Suite is large and luxurious, with self-catering facilities, a private entrance, a garden and patio. This suite is pet friendly, private, secure and always in demand.

The Royal Suite (1)
The Royal Suite has it all, including beautiful sea, pool and garden views. The suite is spacious and luxuriously appointed, with a microwave and fridge for your convenience. The Royal Suite has a vaulted ceiling which gives a bright and breezy ambiance, a patio where you can relax and watch the ships while enjoying an ice cold beverage.

The Koi Pond Suite (1)
The Koi Pond Suite is a lovely, neat, spacious and sunny suite with excellent security and a private entrance that opens onto the garden. Relax on the bench overlooking the koi pond and watch the fish.

The City View Suite (1)
The City View Suite faces north in the direction of Umhlanga village. It is located within the guest house itself and shares a passage with the Honeymoon Suite. This suite is ideal for those who like to be located close to friends or family. It is peaceful and private, and decorated with a nautical theme.
