Description
Natures Retreat and Backpackers is found in Durban’s historical Hillary, scenic river surroundings and beautiful bird life including various different birds of prey species.Experience it when a hawk flies just half a meter away from the window. See the stars at night. Only 10 minutes away from Durban Central, Bluff and Amanzimtoti. Also 10 minutes from the ABSA stadium and the Moses Mabhida stadium.
Natures Backpackers offer a shuttle service to all our clients. We do airport collections and we will also pick you up from the bus or train station. Please ask for tariffs on the shuttle service.
Please note that we have a family TV room that is used by the family. Guests are welcome to join the family for a movie. None of the rooms have TV;s, but guests are welcome to join the family in the main house TV room for movies. This gives the guest the chance to meet other guests.
The backpackers do not have a kitchen to use. If a backpacker would like to prepare a meal for themselves they may use the family kitchen. Communal Bathrooms are cleaned once a day when all guests are gone for the day. Guests must clean their own rooms during their stay, this is for security reasons.
No smoking is permitted inside the house or inside any of the rooms.Request A Quote

Four Bed Family Rooms (1)
This room has four single/bunk beds in a room. You will be sharing with three other people unless you book all four beds and pay for them. Shared bathrooms. Please note that these rooms are inside the house, that also have a dorm room.

Our double rooms are stylishly furnished with a double bed in each room. We have a TV in the lounge with DStv.

Double Family Room (1)
Our double family room are stylishly furnished with a bunk-bed and a double bed. We have a TV in the lounge with DStv and a huge selection of DVD's.

Twin Room (1)
This room has one wooden bunk bed in the room and can sleep two people. This room uses the communal bathrooms, communal kitchen and communal TV/lounge.

Six Bed Family Room (6)
Six bed family room. This room has six single beds two triple bunk beds in a room. Sharing with five other people unless you book all six beds and pay for them. Please note that these rooms are separate rooms next to the main house. These rooms all share communal bathrooms and a communal kitchen. Everyone watch TV in the Communal TV room.

Dorm Rooms (3)
We have three mixed dorm rooms. Each consists of 30 beds, triple bunk beds. Shared bathrooms.

Dorm Room In Unit 13 (1)
This room usage the toilet inside unit 13 but uses the communal bathrooms, communal kitchen and communal TV/Lounge. This room can sleep nine people. The room comes with three triple bunk beds.

Loft Room 1 (1)
This room can sleep six people. This room has three wooden bunk beds. This room has its own shower, toilet and basin and a very small kitchen with only a microwave, sink and a bar fridge.

Loft Room 2 (1)
This room can be joined with Loft room 1. This room has two bunk beds and can sleep four. This room uses the communal bathrooms. This room uses the communal TV/lounge. This room uses the communal kitchen.
