Occupying a breathtaking site on the lower slopes of Table Mountain and set in nine acres of lush and tranquil gardens, the Mount Nelson is Cape Town’s most famous hotel, located just a short stroll from the historic city centre and vibrant Kloof Street.The 144 luxurious rooms and 57 suites offer garden or mountain-facing views and leisure facilities include two heated swimming pools, two floodlit tennis courts, a gymnasium with personal trainers, a golf practice net, two gift shops, and Internet access throughout the hotel. A luxurious spa has also opened, boasting ten treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room, plunge pools, and a conservatory.
The hotel offers two restaurants - the Cape Colony Restaurant combines fine dining with impeccable service amid an elegant interior, with live music each evening. The menu features contemporary South African cuisine with an exotic Asian influence, while the wine list was recently awarded the Diners Club Award of Excellence.
Overlooking the beautiful gardens and swimming pool, the Oasis Restaurant offers the perfect venue for relaxed alfresco dining, ranging from extensive breakfast and lunch options, through to simpler health-focused meals, perfectly prepared to your exact specifications. The hotel is also famous for its decadent Afternoon Tea served daily in the elegant lounge, while champagne and cocktails are sipped by night in the stylish Planet Bar which spills out onto a magnificent garden terrace, allowing guests to take full advantage of the beautiful African night sky.
All rooms are individually furnished and provided with fully appointed private bathrooms and individually controlled air-conditioning. In addition, each is equipped with a television, international touch-dial telephones, voice mail, high-speed Internet access, and an electronic safe. Refrigerators and mini-bars are provided in all rooms except the Single Rooms. A local daily newspaper, robes, hair dryers and bottled water are also included. A private fax line is available on request in some rooms, and non-smoking rooms are available.
A unique feature of the Mount Nelson Hotel is its four new 'wings' of luxurious accommodation, all set in private gardens planted with lavender and iceberg roses. These wings, Taunton House, Green Park, Helmsley, and Hof Villa, are reached from the main hotel via the leafy Palm Avenue. Room Types
Luxury Rooms (45)
Our Luxury Rooms have an understated charm, complemented by modern luxury for the discerning traveller. They are larger in size than Superior Rooms, with more spacious sitting areas. Luxury Rooms also offer a choice of twin or king-size beds. Most rooms offer a view of our magnificent gardens, Table Mountain, or a balcony overlooking a tinkling fountain courtyard. As with our Superior Rooms, guests can comfortably be entertained in a mini-lounge area. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom which vary in size depending on the location of the room, equipped with a separate shower, bath, basin, and lavatory. The 45 Luxury Rooms vary in size and are located in the main hotel, Green Park, and Taunton House. Interconnecting rooms are available on request in the main hotel and Green Park.

Superior Rooms (99)
These rooms have a choice of twin or king-size beds. Guests can comfortably be entertained in a mini-lounge area and a writing desk, complete with stationery, ideal for catching up on correspondence. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom which vary in size depending on the location of the room and are equipped with a separate shower, bath, basin, and lavatory. Bathroom amenities include a range of exclusive L'Occitane soap, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. Interleading rooms are available on request.

Accessible Room (2)
The bathrooms in these rooms have been adapted with wider bathroom doors, a low sink, bath with handrails, and open cupboards for easy access. The shower, with a movable showerhead, has been left open, with a chair for convenience. These rooms are situated in Green Park and offer views overlooking a picturesque courtyard with fountain.

Junior Suites (19)
For guests requiring more spacious accommodation, our Junior Suites comprise of a bedroom with a larger lounge area than our rooms. Some of the Junior Suites offer a separate lounge whilst others offer an open-plan lounging area. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom which vary in size depending on the location of the room, and are equipped with a separate shower, bath, basin, and lavatory. Bathroom amenities include a range of exclusive L'Occitane soap, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. The 19 Junior Suites vary in size and most of the suites offer views of Table Mountain, the hotel gardens or a landscaped courtyard.

Executive Suites (9)
Our Executive Suites are grander and more distinctive than the Junior Suites, offering spacious open-plan lounges and dining areas. With the option of twin or king-size beds and views of either Table Mountain or a courtyard fountain, and all have private balconies with garden furniture. Selected suites also offer a kitchenette or wet bar with a small microwave, hot plate, sink, and general kitchen utensils. These Executive Suites are ideal for families travelling with small children.

Deluxe Suites (19)
The Deluxe Suites offer twin or king-size beds with a separate bedroom, living, and dining area, a private courtyard, and a balcony overlooking a picturesque courtyard with fountain. A kitchenette/wet bar is provided with small microwave, washbasin, and general kitchen utensils in selected suites.

Our Luxury Suites offer grand living at its finest. These magnificently furnished suites feature a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and most offer an entrance hall, large lounge, and dining room. They are all very spacious and have spectacular views of the garden, pool, or Table Mountain. A guest cloakroom is provided and selected suites also have a wet bar with small microwave, hot plate, sink, and general kitchen utensils. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom which vary in size depending on the location of the room, and are equipped with a separate shower, bath, basin, and lavatory. Bathroom amenities include a range of exclusive L'Occitane soap, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Luxury Suites are located on the outer 'wings' of the main hotel building, the top floor of Green Park, and the Garden Cottages.
